The Department of Land Transport (DLT) is the main regulatory body for road transport in Thailand, overseeing and regulating road users and vehiclesunder Motor Vehicle Act 1979 (B.E. 2522) and Land Transport Act 1979 (B.E. 2522). DLT aspires to be the enabler for efficient, safe, and inclusive road transport system. We also aim to provide reliable and accessible transport to support Thailand’s logistics system by harnessing road infrastructure and enhancing transport operators’ capability.
Oversees, regulates, and ensures that freight transport operations comply with applicable laws and established standards. The division is responsible for formulating relevant regulations, and supervising cross-border freight transport.
Studies, analyzes, plans, and develops the road freight transport system to enhance the capabilities of transport operators and personnel. The division is also responsible for developing road transport standards (Q Mark and Q Cold Chain).
Responsible for planning, developing, and overseeing freight terminals, including related infrastructure and facilities. The division also promotes investment and collaboration with the private sector to modernize and enhance the efficiency of freight terminals.
